Rushing forward, the bee does exactly what Navy thought it would. Turning towards them, it issues an attack order. Hattori raises a substitute, sparing them from the worst of the blows. She flees back into the rift, a water shuriken serving as a goodbye present.[break][break]
Between dragonfire and Hattori’s tricks, it’s easy enough to open a path forward. Before them stands the rift. On the other side is the Ultra Deep Sea. It is a place which has haunted both Navy’s waking dreams and his sleep.[break][break]
And today, he must introduce someone new to this madhouse. Steeling himself for what’s to come, he recalls Hattori. Here, this deep in the sea, he’ll need a different sort of strategy. Navy throws out two pokeballs, releasing two very different Pokemon. Tormund the Perrserker clings to his shoulder while Musashi, a large Scizor, buzzes close by.[break][break]
“Not gonna lie, this is going to suck. You’re gonna feel pressure on your chest like you’re drowning. It’s gonna feel like you’re underwater, but you can breathe still. It’ll take a while to get used to it. A damn long while. You’d need a sygna suit to really feel normal down here. Ready when you are.”[break][break]
And, when Noel Parker says he is ready, they dive. It’s a quick tumble. Landing on the other side, Navy feels that old familiar pressure. Encased in his sygna suit, he feels like an old school diver. Floating along the ground, Perrserker swims through the air alongside his sheriff.[break][break]
Above them is darkness, broken only by brief light. Eternatus’s angels hang above them. They’re down here, adrift, hot on the trails of the queen. She leaves residue and Combee in her wake. Accompanying them are a few Beedrill.[break][break]
“Get ready!” Navy shouts. Musashi sends a quick bullet punch that shatters a zombified Beedrill in two thanks to Tormund’s steely spirit.

As the giant flying queen retreats into her rift, for a moment Noel assumes that they had bested their foe. Yet when Navy explains what they must do next, along with him jumping inside accompanied by his two Pokemon, Noel hesitates for a moment. Was he truly ready for something that might be out of his league? He casts aside these feelings, it wasn't about whether he was ready or not, but that he had to do this. He couldn't let down his sheriff, who had taught him so much since the start of his journey, but also whatever laid down there had to be stopped.[break][break]

Bracing himself for what might possibly be the worst pain he may ever encounter, he leaps inside the rift alongside his trusted Frogadier. The two of them land safely on the other side, however Noel is unable to adapt to the situation quickly. His body felt heavy, it felt like water was being poured straight into his mouth and completely filling up his insides. He grabbed at his throat but nothing would stop this feeling, it wasn't until his froggy friend, who was more in tune with this sort of setting, pats its trainer on the back, reassuring him that everything was all right. Slowly, Noel calms himself down, soon being able to move normally and breathe as if he were on land.[break][break]

"What... What is this place? How can something like this even exist?"[break][break]

There was no time for questions, soon after their arrival came the Vespiquen's reinforcements. Readying himself for battle, he turns to his Frogadier and they both nod their head to each other. His partner swims forward, utilizing its Double Team technique to swiftly and decisively take down a couple of Beedrills with a flurry of punches.

“Hell if I know.” Is the only answer he has for the how. There was an answer. It was broadcast for everyone across the firmament of a long-ago Galarian sky. When that cosmic pageantry played out above them, he was busy. Busy running back home. Busy remembering, all too late, what was truly important to him.[break][break]
“I’m just a kid from Slateport. Don’t know anything ‘bout how Eternatus got here. Above my paygrade.” The queen issues her order. It’s going to be an all-out brawl. Drawing power into his sygna suit, the sync stone surges to life. Technology and its many marvels, too, are beyond him. All he sees are the practical results. Fire gathers around his right fist.[break][break]
While Noel dodges, Navy does the only thing he knows how to do: attacks. His fire punch smashes a zombified combee, Musashi’s pincers and Tormund’s claws augmenting the strike. His Pokemon seem bemused by his presence on the frontline with them, but neither has the capacity to question. Instead, they keep going. Tormund offers Musashi a helping hand, increasing the ferocity of his cormade’s counter attack.[break][break]
“You’re just a kid from Dewford. Here’s the trick: don’t overthink it. Fight. We’ve got some gorgeous beauty queens heading the science division up at HQ. They’ll sort everything out. We just beat the tar out of stuff until it’s safe to tell ‘em about it.”[break][break]
His efforts do little to dissuade the queen. She issues her attack order. Combee and Beedrill charge with the ferocity of the dead.

Noel watches Navy begins his attack against the dreaded horde of Combee and Beedrill. To be able to fight like him alongside his own Pokemon was something he could only dream of in this situation. With abilities like that he'd have nothing to fear and surely be able to stop forces like this one, perhaps even single-handedly.[break][break]

He felt helpless as everyone around him were fighting yet here he was on the ground only able to spectate. Things wouldn't be like this for long, he thought, one day soon he would show Navy just how much stronger he could get and not have to rely on his help to take care of his own missions and battles. He snaps back to reality as a lone Beedrill flies his way, intent on killing him with one stab from its mighty stinger. He dodges to the side, the giant bee now stuck into the ground as its weapon lodges itself inside. Noticing its trainer in danger, Noel's Frogadier grabs hold of a zombified Combee and Flings it towards its foe. The two of them crashing into each other and instantly becoming knocked out.[break][break]

"Heh, easy for you to say Navy. I don't have any superpowers from that suit you've got on, but even without it I'll do my best. Can't leave this mess for those higher up right? Not like they'd do anything themselves."[break][break]

“Well, they will.” He smiles, like he’s sharing a private joke with Noel. “They’ll just take forever. Gotta love bureaucracy. Then, something crazy’ll happen. They’ll overreact. They’ll send in everyone they have.” Like when the dogs fought those ruinous treasures at the ancient tomb. Navy’s eyes carry an envious glean in them for just a moment. Galar had given him wisdom. If only it didn’t cost such a high price. Noel and his ignorance of the stakes is enviable. He himself had been in Noel’s shoes a year ago.[break][break]
“But, remember this: Rocket’ll be there too. No running in like a hero. That—” A beedrill’s stinger shines in the darkness. He doesn’t see it, but Musashi does. His Scizor’s bullet punch sends it reeling back to join the rest of the horde.[break][break]
“…will get you killed. Unless you’ve got people watching your back. Lucky for you, I’ll be with you. If not me, then Baki, the other deputy. Her or a whole slew of other people.” While he talks, they make progress through the swarm. These bugs, born dead, are far weaker than their living counterparts would be. Their strength comes from numbers.[break][break]
They’re inching towards the queen, making a path over the bodies of the fallen. Soon, they’ll be out of here. They just have to survive their meeting with the queen.

"Oh? You never told me you had other deputies. And here I was thinking I was the only one. You're going to have to introduce me to them someday."[break][break]

Of course he had more people under his wing, with someone as powerful as Navy he more than likely had people coming left and right to learn from him. But he wouldn't lose to those people, he'd have to meet this Baki sometime and see exactly just what she's capable of. This was neither here nor there however, at this moment he needed to put all his thoughts into survival.[break][break]

Seemingly annoyed at the two bantering over personal matters instead of the fight that they were all enveloped in, the queen bee decides to take matters into her own hands. With her forces dwindling and the pair of trainers inching closer and closer to her, she puts matters into her own hands. Flying downwards towards the pair, she crosses her arms in an X-Scissor formation, ready to take out her enemies in one fell swoop.[break][break]

Noel's Frogadier swiftly swims around to the Vespiquen's backside and attempts to Smack Down with an axe kick right across her back. However, the giant bee reacts as if nothing happened and continues her course. Her frame too large for any normal attack to effect her in any way.[break][break]

"Navy watch out! I hope that suit of yours can stop her attack or else we're done for."

“Got just the trick!” Navy and Noel seem to disappear in a puff of smoke. In their place is a substitute. Even in the depths of this sea, it takes the form of a massive Johanna Joy plushie. How this came to be down here is a story Navy doesn’t want to know.[break][break]
Musashi beats his mighty wings. It kicks up a tailwind that hastens everyone on their side of the field. With the queen putting everything she has into this attack, it leaves her open. Navy wants to see what Noel can do. It’s his moment. If they can take out the queen, then the whole swarm will fall. There’ll be nothing down here to make new combee and beedrill to antagonize the world above.[break][break]
“Tormund! Help Noel’s team out!” Navy shouts as they emerge unscathed nearby. Perched on a rock, the gym leader grins. Tormund nods and offers the Frogadier, or whoever else wishes to take advantage of the momentary opening, a helping hand.[break][break]

Through the use of Navy's Substitute Noel is suddenly transported onto the top of the queen's head, the sudden placement causing his whole body to lose balance and it seemed as if he would fall if not for the Helping Hand from Navy's Perrserker. Now steadied on top of the beast's head, the opportunity to finish this was now or never. Releasing his Druddigon out with him, the dragon-type Pokemon inches forwards while Honing its Claws.[break][break]

"All right Druddigon, let's show this giant monster what you're made of!"[break][break]

With a roar so loud it could shake the very heavens, the lumbering dragon begins to swipe over and over again with its Dragon Claws against the red crystal nestled on the Vespiquen's head. A unsettling cry echoed throughout the area as she attempted to reach out and grab at whatever was causing this distress, her arms are too short to reach however, and she has almost no options to deal with this beating. She would fly erratically all over to shake off Noel and his Druddigon but the blue and red dragon holds steadfast, continuing to beat down onto the crystal, chunks of red coming off with each punch.[break][break]

Then with one final attack, a crack forms all across the gem before shattering completely into a million tiny pieces. The life fades from the queen's eyes as she begins to slowly fall down onto the ground, the entire depths of the sea shaking as she crashes with a hard landing. Noel's Druddigon returns to safety in its ball but its trainer isn't so lucky. The quick drop causes him to lose his footing and he begins to tumble off the giant creature's head, now free-falling down into the open sea. The unlucky trainer would land on top of some spiky stalagmites if nothing was done.

“Noel!” Navy has no time to admire the young trainer’s progress, nor to make quips. He rushes into action, activating his sygna suit’s boost. Jumping up, he grabs Noel out of the air before he sinks into the sharp rocks. Toned as he is, human begins are still heavy. The weight’s distributed well, but the sheriff still has to plant his feet to avoid tumbling himself.[break][break]
“Ya did good, man.” He says as he helps the deputy down. Behind them, the Combee start to sputter. Without their queen to help sustain them, many of them begin to close their eyes. They go to the great beyond, where at last they know peace denied to them in life. Noel and his Druddigon gave them that peace, and for that Navy is grateful.[break][break]
“There’ll be lots of paperwork after this.” That makes him grimace harder than anything else they’ve done on this long day has. Paperwork is anathema to men of action like them. “Rangers will wanna come down. Collect everything before the Nihilego get them. We’re not done yet, but the exciting part’s over.”[break][break]
“You’ve come far. I mean it. The person I met back at the fair wouldn’t have been able to get his Druddigon to do that.”[break][break]
His stomach growls. Fighting this much is hard work. Hattori chuckles, his own stomach rumbling soon after. It seems this work hasn’t made him lose his appetite.[break][break]
